Staple Of The Fresh Hop Season, Harvest Pilsner Now Available

Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. have today released this year’s eagerly awaited Harvest Pilsner™.
Described as ‘the brew that freshly harvested hop cones dream about being a part of’, the beer is a staple of the fresh hop season, having won multiple awards across its fourteen releases and cementing itself a place in New Zealand’s Beer Hall of Fame.
This year’s release brings a combination of fresh Riwaka™ and NZH-106 hops; hand-selected from farms local to the Richmond-based brewery, including Holmdale Farm in Wakefield, Mac Hops in Motueka, and Hinetai Hops in Tapawera. As with any of Sprig + Fern’s fresh hop releases, timing is a key aspect of the beer’s success, and each harvest was raced back to an awaiting brew mere minutes after being bagged up.

“After selecting Riwaka™ for our Monohoppily Fresh Hop Hazy, we were so impressed with the fresh cones that we knew they’d make a terrific addition to our Harvest Pilsner™.
“We then had the opportunity to include fresh NZH-106 hops, an experimental variety we’ve had great success with in last year’s Headliner and Encore limited releases. These hops were unbelievable in terms of quality and work wonders alongside the Riwaka™ – with exquisite resin notes, some tropical fruit sweetness, citrus peel, with a lovely bitterness to finish.”
Harvest Pilsner™ is available from today at all Sprig + Fern Taverns, as well as in leading stores nationwide and online through the Sprig + Fern online store.
