Summer Days Call For Sprig + Fern’s Hazy Rays

Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. have today released their newest limited release beer – and their first for the year – a hazy pale ale that promises to deliver all the tasting notes needed at the end of a long, hot summer.

Hazy Rays, a 5.3% hazy pale ale, utilises hop varietals from both New Zealand and the United States, including Nelson Sauvin™ and Motueka™ locally, Talus® and Simcoe® from across the Pacific.

These varieties were selected to bring bright and unmistakable citrus aroma and flavour to the brew, for a refreshing and thirst-quenching drop. The brewing team noted especially remarkable orange marmalade and juicy mandarin notes to the finished product, with a soft mouthfeel and flavours of ripe pip fruit with a zesty grapefruit twist.

The beer has retained a suitably golden haze that Daniel Tipping, Marketing + Communications Executive says is “like the last rays of the day”. Pleasingly, the can artwork reflects this well, with a simple – somewhat romantic – image of the sun setting on the horizon, with reflections, a soft haze and light rays all showing in abundance.

Hazy Rays is available on tap from today at all Sprig + Fern Taverns, plus online and in grocery and liquor stores nationwide. According to the Sprig + Fern team, Hazy Rays is “best enjoyed with a side of summer sunshine”.
