Sprig + Fern Motueka Under New Ownership

With their first weekend on the taps ticked off, Sprig + Fern Motueka is officially under new ownership.

The Tavern, situated on Hart Lane in Motueka, was sold last week by long-time owners and Motueka locals Peter Fry and Sue Bloomfield. Peter and Sue also own Sprig + Fern Mapua.

The new owners of Sprig + Fern Motueka are Ray Cusack, Janet Sim and Clint Bloomfield, who officially took over the venue last Monday, with their first night trading on Thursday. Ray, Janet and Clint are all Motueka locals themselves, well-known to the community they now serve.

Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. owner and master brewer, Tracy Banner, says:

“On behalf of the entire team at the Brewery, we’d all like to thank Pete and Sue for keeping Motueka a warm and inviting Tavern for so many years. Of course, they’re still around and taking great care of the community in Mapua – hopefully with a little more time to themselves, now they’ve only one Tavern to manage!

“We’re also delighted to have Ray, Janet and Clint as part of the Sprig + Fern family and we all look forward to seeing what they bring to the Motueka Tavern”.

Sprig + Fern Motueka is open 2pm – late, seven days a week, serving snacks, meals, local wine and – of course – nineteen taps of locally brewed craft beer and cider.
