PACKAGING ASSISTANT

FULL TIME – 40HRS/WEEK
FIXED TERM CONTRACT
FOR OUR BUSY PERIOD
5TH JANUARY 2026 – 30TH APRIL 2026
ROLE:
  • Washing and filling of kegs
  • Packaging of cans and bottles
  • Detailed warehousing and finished goods, dispatch and stock rotation
  • You will work with an experienced team, and it is critical that the operations team uphold high standards of hygiene, quality and execution of work and that all production schedules are met
RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role is multi-tasked, covering areas of packaging and dispatch and has the following responsibilities:

  • Assist with canning and bottling including helping with set-up, change-over, labeling, filling, packaging and cleaning of the equipment and packaging areas
  • Warehousing of finished goods including stock rotation
  • Washing, filling and storage of kegs
  • To keep excellent and accurate production records
  • Be quality focused with the ability to perform QA analysis
  • Dispatch of orders in a timely manner and arranging freight
  • Maintain a high standard of cleaning and housekeeping
  • Be health and safety focused and observe all regulatory or house rules
  • Have good time management and the ability to work under pressure
  • Assisting other areas of the business when required
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and be a team player
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • Any applicant must be eligible to work within New Zealand either as a resident or by holding a current work visa
  • The ability to be a team player
  • The ability to troubleshoot – use one’s initiative

Desirable but not Essential:

  • Current forklift licence
  • Experience operating packaging lines and handling chemicals
  • Knowledge of automated equipment and be mechanically minded
  • Knowledge of a Food Control Plan or similar
