A Fond Farewell to Owners of Sprig + Fern Mapua

After nearly fifteen years of Sprig + Fern Tavern ownership, Pete Fry and Sue Bloomfield have sold Sprig + Fern Mapua.

Tracy Banner, Brand Owner and Master Brewer at Sprig + Fern Brewing Co., says:

“Pete and Sue have been an integral part of the brand over this time and we thank them very much for everything they’ve done both at Mapua, and previously at Sprig + Fern Motueka. We wish them a long, healthy and enjoyable retirement.

“We’re also delighted to be working with a familiar set of faces as the new owners of Sprig + Fern Mapua, and are excited to see their vision for this beloved venue come to life”.

The new owners are Ben Douglas, Sam Fitzgerald and Renée Appleman – also owners of Sprig + Fern Tahuna – who have purchased Sprig + Fern Mapua along with Sprig + Fern Tahuna chef Tim Comber.

Sprig + Fern Mapua is open from today under the new ownership, after a brief, two-day closure earlier this week.
