By popular demand, Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. is today releasing a hefeweizen, right in time for the start of spring.
A style frequently requested by Tavern regulars and owners alike, Fields of Gold is a hefeweizen that, in the words of Daniel Tipping, Sprig + Fern’s Marketing and Communications Executive, “hits all the marks you’d expect from a wheat beer done well”.
The 5.4% ABV classically-styled German wheat beer is straw-coloured with a stunning haze, and a nose with notes of banana, stone-fruit, a sprinkling of baking spices. On the sip there’s a juiciness with a slightly tart edge, and a wheat base that gives a bite of banana bread.
In Daniel’s words, “we can think of no better beer to whisk us towards warmer weather”.
Fields of Gold Hefeweizen is pouring fresh from taps today at Sprig + Fern Taverns in Wellington, Nelson-Tasman and Christchurch. For all others, or those keen to enjoy from the comfort of home, a small number of 440ml cans and 888ml bottles are available in physical and online stores nationwide.
