Following in the foosteps of last year’s Hidden Gem Hazy, Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. have revived the brew with a fresh hop variety.
The original Hidden Gem Hazy released last October and featured trial hop NZH-104 from the Bract Brewing Programme. For the newest version, Sprig + Fern procured another experimental hop variety, NZH-109.
Added to the brewery’s newest hazy pale ale, the hop character is described as ‘a proper citrus bomb, bringing lively and bright notes of lemon and lime zest alongside juicy grapefruit flesh’.
Hidden Gem Hazy with NZH-109 is available from today at all fifteen Sprig + Fern Taverns, as well as in leading stores nationwide and the Sprig + Fern online shop.
About NZ Hops’ Bract Brewing Programme
The Bract Brewing Programme, run by NZ Hops Ltd, tasks a select group of brewers nationally and internationally with brewing and releasing beers containing these exclusive hop varietals. Brewers and customers are then invited to participate in a short survey, with the feedback being used to influence the direction of the trial hops.
Those keen to give their feedback on NZH-109 can do so at sprigandfern.co.nz/bract.
