The Sprig + Fern Tavern in the Wellington suburb of Berhampore is seeing gold, having been named a finalist in the prestigious Wellington Gold Awards 2024.
The Wellington Gold Awards, established in 1999, are an eagerly awaited annual event that aims to showcase and celebrate business excellence and enterprise in the greater Wellington and Horowhenua regions.
Announced on Friday evening at a special event held at Te Wharewaka o Poneke, the Tavern claimed one of six finalist spots in the Emerging Gold – Products category.
In a social media post, owners John and Rachel Sommerfield shared their delight, saying:
“Some huge businesses are showcased here from around the Wellington region and we are in a pinch us moment that we are among some of these big businesses and brands!”
After a second round of judging – with a panel made up of around 25 business and community leaders – the winners will be announced on Thursday 22 August at an awards ceremony held at Embassy Theatre in Wellington.
