One of last summer’s most beloved brews is making a return to taps today, as Wai-iti Ultra Session Lager returns to Sprig + Fern Taverns.
The beer, which has made regular appearances in Sprig + Fern’s range for several years, was once more met with a very warm reception when it released in December 2022. This follows the growing demand for lower alcohol-by-volume options that still offer a true taste and feel of craft beer.
The re-released session lager sits at a relaxed 3.2% ABV, promising full flavour with a crisp finish and medium-body. The addition of locally-grown Wai-iti™ hops bring a refreshing splash of freshly-squeezed lime and stone fruit – or, as the description reads, “just the thing after a day of salt, sand and sunshine”.
In addition, at several Sprig + Fern Taverns, Wingmate Non-Alcoholic Hazy IPA will also be on tap for the warmer months, giving those socialising across summer a range of low-alcohol and non-alcoholic options to choose from. This follows a successful trial in Dry July, in which Wingmate was a hit with those avoiding alcohol (as well as those eager for additional options with a lower ABV).
Wai-iti Ultra Session Lager is available on taps at the fourteen Sprig + Fern and Little Sprig Taverns from today, and will enjoy an extended release over the summer. The beer has also been packaged in a 1.25L rigger, which is no available to purchase from select supermarkets and liquor stores, and the Sprig + Fern online store.
