Following the recent success of Lock, Bock & Barrel at the Brewers Guild of New Zealand Beer Awards, Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. have today re-released another award-winning bock beer.
Smoked Bock, which was last brewed in 2019 and claimed a gold medal in the same year, has been revisited and – according to the Sprig + Fern brewing team – “tastes as good as ever”.
The recipe puts front-and-centre mānuka smoked malt, which brings the distinctive aroma and flavour to this German-style bock. This is balanced by a robust, malty sweetness, and finishes with an unmistakably ashy aftertaste.
Complete with refreshed artwork that gives a good indication of the flavours and aromas within, Smoked Bock is available from today in cans, bottles, and on tap at the fourteen Sprig + Fern or Little Sprig Taverns in Wellington, Nelson, Tasman and Christchurch.
