We owe much of our success as a Brewery and Taverns to the communities we’re a part of – without them, we wouldn’t be here brewing award-winning craft beer, cider and hard soda.
As a way of giving back to the communities who have supported us since our humble beginnings, we’re delighted to sponsor and partner with various sports and other organisations in Nelson, Tasman and Wellington regions.
CENTRAL DISTRICTS CRICKET
We are proud to partner with Central Districts Cricket across their home fixtures. As the exclusive beer and cider sponsor, our range is available at the grounds, and you’ll also spot us on the sleeve of both the Central Stags and Central Hinds.
We were also proud to brew a special beer to celebrate their 75th Jubilee, which proved to be very popular with fans and added to the occasion. The partnership is a great fit for us, bringing together quality sport and a shared focus on community and experience.
Beyond the sponsorship, we’re genuine supporters of the game and our team enjoy getting along to matches, soaking up the atmosphere and cheering the Stags and Hinds on alongside fellow supporters.
DANCING FOR A CAUSE
As a major fundraiser for the Nelson Tasman Hospice, we were more than happy to be involved with Dancing for a Cause in 2023 and 2025. As the exclusive beer and cider sponsor, we supplied a range of beer and cider for the big night in May, helping contribute to a fantastic atmosphere while supporting such an important cause.
In addition, we were proud to be the individual sponsor behind Ben Douglas – part-owner of Sprig + Fern Tahuna – who absolutely nailed his performance on the night. It was a memorable event that brought the community together, and we were honoured to play a small part in supporting the incredible work hospice does for our region.
NELSON HOCKEY
Located only a few minutes from the brewery amongst the busy Saxton sports grounds, you’ll find Nelson Hockey and their two playing turfs, a hub of activity for players, supporters and the wider sporting community. The venue regularly hosts a wide range of matches, trainings and tournaments, making it a key part of the local sports scene.
Our award-winning craft beers and ciders are on tap to provide the perfect post-match refreshment. It’s a natural partnership that brings together quality local sport and locally crafted beverages, creating a welcoming environment for teams and spectators alike.
Being so close to the brewery, we love supporting a venue that plays such an important role in the community, and it’s always great to see players and supporters come together after games to relax, socialise and enjoy the atmosphere.
RICHMOND FOOTBALL CLUB
Given our brewing team is filled with football lovers, partnering with the club based only a stone’s throw from the brewery made Richmond FC an obvious match. With such close ties to the local community, it felt like a natural fit to support a club that brings so many players, families and supporters together week in and week out.
We’re proud to be the major sponsor of the club and to be serving a range of beer and cider at the clubrooms, helping create a welcoming space for post-match catch-ups and celebrations. You’ll also find our logo featured throughout the clubrooms, on some of the playing uniforms, and across various club touchpoints, reflecting our ongoing commitment to the team and its members.

TASMAN BAY CRUISING CLUB
It’s a spacious venue with stunning views over the water, making it the perfect setting for any function or gathering. Whether you’re hosting a casual catch-up with friends or a more formal celebration, the atmosphere here is hard to beat. To ensure both members and guests can enjoy the best in craft beverages, we’re proud to support the Tasman Bay Cruising Club and their welcoming community.
Sprig + Fern products can be found right behind the bar, ready to be poured for your enjoyment. And on sunny days, you might spot one of our Sprig + Fern umbrellas keeping the glare out of your eyes while you relax and take in the scenery.
We’ve also been delighted to support a number of Club events over the years, including their much-loved summer regatta, helping to keep everyone refreshed and in high spirits. It’s always a pleasure to be part of the Club’s vibrant events and celebrations, and we look forward to continuing our connection with the Tasman Bay Cruising Club for years to come.
TASMAN WHEELERS
With a climate that lends itself so perfectly to road racing, supporting cycling in the region we call home is something we’re proud to do. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of a ride along our scenic routes, and we love being able to play a small part in encouraging both seasoned cyclists and newcomers to enjoy the sport.
You’ll often find members of the Tasman Wheelers winding down after a ride with a refreshing drink at one of the Sprig + Fern Taverns, sharing stories from the road and celebrating their achievements. Beyond post-ride refreshments, our award-winning beers and ciders are also featured as prizes at various local cycling events, helping to make these occasions even more memorable.
Supporting Tasman Wheelers is more than just about the beverages – it’s about fostering community, encouraging active lifestyles, and celebrating the dedication and passion of cyclists across our region. TAWA AFC
With strong roots in the local community, Tawa AFC has been bringing people together through football for decades, providing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities across the northern Wellington region.
Partnering with a club that shares our passion for community, connection and a good time after the final whistle makes Tawa AFC a natural fit for us. We’re proud to support the club and its players, and to be part of a network that values participation, wellbeing, and the social side of sport just as much as the game itself.

WAIMEA HARRIERS
To keep runners motivated during the cooler months, when the temptation to stay inside is at its peak, we’re delighted to support the Sprig + Fern 10K Series, proudly hosted each year by Waimea Harriers. It’s a fantastic way to stay active, challenge yourself, and enjoy the camaraderie of the local running community.
The series kicks off near one of the Tasman-based Sprig + Fern Taverns, with participants following a scenic 10-kilometre route that takes in some of the region’s beautiful landscapes. The finish line brings runners straight back to the Tavern, where a well-earned refreshment awaits – a perfect reward after pushing through the kilometres. To add a little extra excitement, we supply spot prizes along the way, celebrating personal bests, effort, and good spirits.
Supporting the 10K Series is more than just about running – it’s about fostering community, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, and sharing a sense of achievement and fun with locals. We’re proud to be part of this annual event, raising a glass to the dedication and determination of every runner who takes on the challenge.
WALKING FOOTBALL
Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. have proudly been the naming sponsor of Walking Football Nelson since the very beginning, supporting a sport that brings people together, encourages activity, and fosters fun and friendly competition. Over the years, we’ve loved watching the game grow, seeing new participants join, and celebrating the camaraderie that makes this community so special.
Today, the team are out on the field once again, putting foot to ball for the annual Prostate Cup, an event dedicated to raising funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ. It’s a fantastic occasion, combining the thrill of competition with a very important cause, and we’re proud to support both the players and the wider community in raising awareness and funds for men’s health.
Our brewery team have also thrown their hat into the ring – and with surprising skill and determination, they managed an impressive 2nd place in the very first tournament! It just goes to show that while our focus is on brewing exceptional beer, we’re not too shabby when it comes to a bit of friendly sporting rivalry either.
From cheering on the players to celebrating wins on and off the field, we’re thrilled to continue supporting Walking Football Nelson and the Prostate Cup, raising a glass to community, fun, and a cause that matters.
