Alongside our award-winning core range of craft beers and ciders, we regularly brew small-batches of special limited release beers. These are expertly crafted by our brewing team to make the most of boundary-pushing styles, specialty malts, and seasonal, fresh or experimental hop varieties.
Often extremely limited in volume, these limited releases are found on tap in Sprig + Fern Taverns, or in cans and bottles online or in select stores nationwide.

IRISH RED ALE
Pouring reddish-brown, our Irish Red Ale greets the senses with soft caramel and toasted malt aromas, finishing with a hint of roast. The smooth, medium body nicely balancing the malt flavours. ENGLISH SUMMER ALE

Introducing English Summer Ale our latest limited release, brewed with two classic English hops: East Kent Goldings and Bramling Cross. With a sun-kissed straw colour, this Summer Ale feels right at home beside a promenade or a striped deckchair on the sand. East Kent Goldings, long celebrated as the ultimate English hop, brings traditional floral and citrus notes, while Bramling Cross provides its own classic dark fruit character. The first sip and 'cor, blimey!' - a wave of citrus rolls in with a lemony zest. Light-bodied, refreshing, and superbly sessionable, with a crisp finish. A cheerful toast to summer days. Cheers!

HAZE OF THE PEOPLE FOUR ON TOUR

For the fourth edition of the Haze of the People series, we once again put the decision in your hands – this time asking the public to choose the hops that would make the cut. The result? A globe-trotting line-up of NZH-106, Saphir, Citra and Vic Secret, coming together from New Zealand, Germany, the USA and Australia. With such a far-flung selection, the name for this hazy adventure practically wrote itself: 'Four on Tour'.

The latest in our Hop Flake Hazy series is powered by the same revolutionary dispersible hop flake technique that has already proven a success with both Motueka and Nelson Sauvin, and the results are nothing short of stunning. Hop Flake Hazy – Riwaka™ is an explosion of citrus zest and tropical intensity. From the moment you take that first sip expect vibrant notes of crushed lime, fresh-cut grapefruit, and tangy mandarin leaping from the glass, joined by a delicate undercurrent of sweet herbal spice.

We’ve tapped into the crisp, refined world of the Italian Pilsner with our latest limited release — a refreshing lager brewed using Saphir and Saaz hops. Pouring a brilliantly clear straw-gold, the European hops bring a noble edge — expect soft floral spice, earthy herbs, and a clean, grassy bitterness. There's a new hop in town, and we've tracked it down. Fresh from the Clayton Innovation Project, trial hop CIP-076 bursts on to the scene and outta the glass with big citrus and stone fruit aromas. The flavour follows in its footsteps with bright grapefruit, crisp melon, stone fruits and hints of lychee. The only mystery left to solve will be where the beer in your glass disappeared to...

TANK TITAN WCIPA

Forged in the fires of this year’s mythological West Coast IPA Challenge theme, the Tank Titan is tasked to forever bear the weight of heavenly hoppiness. We’ve balanced a pantheon of flavours in this brew, with prickly notes of pine, sticky resin, and tropical fruit all coming to the fore, while a divine aroma transports you to an Athenian orange grove. The bitterness brings it all together and a lingering juiciness tempts a second sip. And then another.

HIDDEN GEM HAZY NZH-112

We’ve unearthed yet another Hidden Gem – this time, it’s the experimental hop NZH-112 from the Bract Brewing Programme. Unloaded into our hazy pale ale, it bursts open with fresh citrus peel, ripe peach and a sherbet fizziness. The fruit-forward smorgasbord is rounded out with hints of juicy pear and table grapes. It’s exquisitely refreshing and full of flavour!

GOOD AS! NZIPA

Our entry for the NZIPA Challenge doesn’t need a fancy name, it is what it is – a Good As! NZIPA. A combo of Kiwi hops pop off with big orange notes – think freshly picked from the tree, and an old school 50c mix of sherbet and gummy sweets – with hints of grape and resin. There’s an easy-drinking bitterness to bring it together, and a smooth malt sweetness to finish. What more can we say – it’s Good As!

NEON NOIR

There’s a certain silver lining that comes with a dip in the thermometer; delightful and delicious dark beers! Our first for the cooler months is Neon Noir, brewed in the style of a Japanese Black Lager. But don’t let the dark hue intimidate – this is a light and refreshing drop, marrying delicate fruit and spice notes, with caramel malt sweetness and hints of chocolate. This is a truly versatile beer – equally at home in a sun-soaked beer garden or in front of the fireplace.

Revolutionary isn't a word we throw around often, but after brewing with this incredible new product - pure hop oil, dehydrated into a fully water dispersible and full-flavoured hop flake - we have to wonder if this is the start of something special. Hop Flake Hazy was carefully crafted with a blend of Motueka™ and Nelson Sauvin™ hop flakes to marry together the brightness and juiciness the two varieties are known for - it's a feast for the senses, with mixed citrus notes, a range of ripe fruits, with a light floral and distinctly resinous note to close.

A special, fresh hop collaboration brew between Sprig + Fern and the Pink Boots Society of NZ, crafted with a range of Pink Boots members during a special brew day on International Women's Day, March 8. Loaded with fresh, Riwaka™ hops from Korere Farms, expect the big citrus and tropical fruit aromas and flavours this hop is so famous for.

This year's harvest marks the 15th anniversary of our multi-award-winning fresh hop pilsner. For 2025, it's been carefully crafted with local Riwaka™ and Motueka™ hops, hand-selected, collected, and raced back to the brewery by Tracy. They lend exquisite and more-ish notes of mixed citrus and tropical fruit, a pleasant sweetness and a bright, resinous note. These are balanced against a rock-solid foundation of a crisp, dry, and quite frankly terrific pilsner.

Our homage to the harvest, exquisitely brewed to capture the essence of a single hop variety. As with 2024, Monohoppily Fresh Hop Hazy is packed with Riwaka™ hops, hand-selected and transported from the bine to the brew in mere minutes. Expect a silky-smooth sip bursting with unmistakably fruity and fresh flavours of sweet citrus and white peach, with a pleasant resinous backbone.

Summer of the Sesh sits at a refreshing and easy-drinking 3.2% ABV, but still packs bright and bold notes of juicy, sweet citrus - think orange, grapefruit and lime - with a light floral touch and a pleasant bitterness. Here's a beer that's perfectly matched to the summer.

Strewth! We've shipped a load of Galaxy and Vic Secret hops across the Tasman, with our mid-summer hazy in mind. Ridgy-Didge is a sessionable and smooth number, with an Aussie-hop hit. There's a big, sweet citrus note - grapefruit and mandarin - and a hint of passionfruit. At a fair dinkum 4.4%, this one's perfectly suited for sipping in the sunshine.

As soon as the sunny days work up a thirst, in steps Dias Soleados Mexican Lager! No thirst can’t be quenched by our take on this renowned style. Pouring a straw-gold colour that’s perfectly suited for the sunshine, with a cold, crisp, and refreshing sip – elevated by a slice of citrus, if that’s your thing. ¡Salud!

Big, bold notes of American hops meet the crisp, refreshing qualities of a pilsner - a clash of styles that, like the personalities in an 80's cop film, find a way to work together. Expect a perky citrus note up front - juicy orange and limoncello - with summer stone fruit riding shotgun and a hint of sticky, green resin in the back.

FIELDS OF GOLD HEFEWEIZEN

Classically-styled and supremely easy-drinking, Fields of Gold Hefeweizen hits all the marks you'd expect from a Hefe done well. Straw-coloured with a stunning haze, and a nose with notes of banana, stone-fruit, a sprinkling of baking spices. On the sip there's a juiciness with a slightly tart edge, and a wheat base that gives a bite of banana bread.

As voted by owners and staff of Sprig + Fern Taverns and other establishments, Haze of the People #3 includes the legendary Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin. Together, they send out an aroma of pear, plump grapes, tangerine and lemon sherbet, while the tastebuds get to enjoy white grape, melon, a slight herbaceousness and white jet planes (y'know, the lemon-y ones). Crisp, smooth, and easy-drinking.

OUD G.O.A.T DOPPELBOCK

We're celebrating fifteen years of Sprig + Fern Brewing Co with special, one-off, barrel-aged edition of our multi-award-winning The G.O.A.T Doppelbock. Matured in an oak barrel for twelve months, it serves a smorgasbord of enhanced aromatic and flavour notes - think a rich and buttery fruitcake, berries and raisins, oak and spice, all delivered over a sip that's velvety, warming and contemplative.

Hidden inside the opaque finish lies a gem - that is, experimental hop NZH-109 from the Bract Brewing Programme. This trial hop is a proper citrus bomb, bringing lively and bright notes of lemon and lime zest alongside juicy grapefruit flesh, with a faint sweetness to balance a pleasantly bitter finish.

Much like a game of Tetris - and Tracy's tank plan at the Brewery - the flavours and aromas of our 2024 West Coast IPA Challenge entry certainly slot right in to place. A dank and resinous aroma greets you at the glass, while the palate delivers orange peel, apricot and tropical fruits, followed by a crisp, assertive bitterness and an oily, smooth finish.

What better way to settle in for the long, winter nights than with six quality malts at your side. Combine them with Fuggle hops and you have an award-winning brew with pronounced caramel, coffee and chocolate notes, and a full-bodied smoothness that’s second to none. Slàinte!

Headliner Hazy NZIPA brings back all the notes you loved from the first release - turned up to eleven. That fruit salad hit is juicier than even, with a sweet orange sitting centre, mango and stone fruit playing in support, and a hint of berries in the background. Delivered over a finish that's soft and smooth, this beer begs for a standing ovation.

Right here is a beer as American as the fourth of July. Monumental American Brown Ale throws nothing but strikes at the malt/hop sweet spot - balancing those more-ish, malt-driven chocolate, caramel and toasty notes with a punch of all-American Simcoe and Sabro hops.
