Sprig & Fern Limited advises that the Sprig + Fern Sprig & Fern Limited advises that the Sprig + Fern Tavern in Merivale, Christchurch will close at the end of trading today, Wednesday 17 September 2025. The current tavern owner/operators, Craig Bowen and Wendy Roigard, have made the decision not to renew their licence upon its expiry and will announce their plans in due course. We thank them and their team for what they have achieved in the Merivale and surrounding communities during their 4-year tenure and wish them well in their future endeavours. We’re incredibly grateful to the loyal patrons and supporters of the Sprig + Fern Merivale since it opened in 2017. The Sprig + Fern brand continues to have a strong presence and great following with our range of awarding winning craft beers and ciders available in bottles, cans and selected bars throughout the Canterbury region. The Sprig + Fern Taverns in the Nelson, Tasman, and Wellington regions continue to be community hubs, each proudly pouring the same award-winning Sprig + Fern brews that have earned a loyal following. We remain committed to growing the Sprig + Fern brand and family and will continue to look for future Sprig + Fern Taverns and Little Sprig opportunities in the Canterbury region.
