Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. is today celebrating a milestone release, with the fifteenth annual fresh hop Harvest Pilsner™.
The 2025 release is crafted with fresh Riwaka™ and Motueka™ hops, which as ever were hand-selected, collected, and raced back to the Richmond-based brewery by Master Brewer, Tracy Banner.
The hops are said to lend “exquisite and more-ish notes of mixed citrus and tropical fruit, a pleasant sweetness and a bright, resinous note, balanced against a rock-solid foundation of a crisp and dry pilsner”.
Daniel Tipping, Marketing + Communications Executive at Sprig + Fern Brewing Co., said:
“For fifteen years, Harvest Pilsner™ has been more than just a fresh hop beer — it’s a celebration of New Zealand’s hop-growing and brewing industries, a labour of love, and a testament to the incredible quality of our local ingredients.
“Each year, Tracy and our brewing team work their magic to capture the best of the harvest, and we are confident that this year’s release is something special.”
Since its first release in 2011, Harvest Pilsner™ has remained a fan favourite and is touted to be a standout selection of each fresh hop season. The beer has claimed multiple awards, including a golden run between 2012 and 2015, in which it won four straight gold medals at the Brewers Guild of New Zealand Beer Awards. Most recently, the beer claimed a silver medal in the 2024 Brewers Guild of New Zealand Beer Awards.
Harvest Pilsner™ 15th Anniversary Edition is available from today at all Sprig + Fern Taverns, and online in small quantities.
Like Monohoppily Fresh Hop Hazy, released one week prior, Harvest Pilsner™ stock is expected to sell out quickly. In response, Sprig + Fern have updated their online stockists map with a dedicated section highlighting all locations nationwide stocking their fresh hop range.
