The Sprig and Fern Brewery uses some very modern equipment and some very traditional brewing techniques to produce the fine craft beers that so many of the Sprig and Fern Tavern regulars enjoy. While we can deliver 17,500 litres of beer per week, it is the quality that goes into each and every imperial pint that really matters.

Tracy Banner, Sprig and Fern Head Brewer

Tracy Banner is the Sprig and Fern Brewery’s Head Brewer and joint owner. She has spent her working life learning, developing and perfecting her beer brewing craft. While always carefully applying good basic brewing techniques, Tracy is not afraid to push the envelope to explore different facets of brewing to bring interesting and innovative tastes to discerning beer drinkers.

Tracy heads the small brewery team that collectively has over 50 years of commercial brewing experience.

The Brewery – where it all happens

The Sprig and Fern Brewery is located at 53 Beach Rd in Richmond, Nelson. Every batch is hand brewed with care and an attention to quality that has earned us a solid reputation amongst real craft beer drinkers and critics all over New Zealand.
